This is stuff I find amusing. Be warned, unless you have geek
humour you might not "get it"!
- Cool Unix Fortunes
If you've
never used the Unix fortune(6) command you're missing some real
fun. These are some fortunes I think are really cool. Most of them
are geekish.
- RFC 1149 A
Standard for the Transmission of IP Datagrams on Avian
Carriers. This has actually been implemented.
- RFC 2549 IP
over Avian Carriers with Quality of Service.
- Star Wars Songs. Including "Y.O.D.A.",
"Imperial Rhapsody", and "The Max Rebo Band".
- I find amusing that in the movie the net, the IP Address
of Praetorian was 23.75.345.200. There are many more goofs, but I
find this one particularly funny.
- Unix Songs These are Beatles Songs with
Unix Lyrics.
- More Unix Songs These are Beatles Songs
with FreeBSD Lyrics that I wrote.
- Dumpin' the Kernel's Core is a parody
of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" by Guns n' Roses.
Extremely Geek Fun
WARNING: The following links contain extremely geek fun. What
I mean by extremely is that unless you have an engineering background
and are basically a nerd you won't find this amusing. Geek, you've
been warned. Proceed at your own risk.
- Did you know that popular songs are best understood in terms
of modern complexity theory? I didn't, but after reading
this paper from Donald Knuth
I seem to understand songs better... yeah right!
