Here are some links I keep mostly for myself. Most of them are
really good reads
Online Books and Reference Sites
People's Home Pages
- William
Kahan. This guy did most of the early work on floating point
numbers. The article entitled "Beastly Numbers" is a fun read.
- Donald
Knuth. If you studied computer science and have never heard of
Don Knuth you've never really studied computer science. He's famous
for writing the best computer typesetting system (TeX), and the series of books
entitled The Art of
Computer Programming.
- Dennis
Ritchie. This is one of the guys who wrote Unix. He's also one
of the inventors of the C Programming Language. What else can I say?
- Ken
Thompson. Here's the guy who co-wrote Unix.
- Brian
Kernighan. He's the other inventor of C. This guy's a brilliant
programmer.
- Eric Raymond. The
voice of the OpenSource
movement. He's the author of the famous paper The
